Tatami Estilo 5.0 Blue Graphite Women's BJJ Gi
The newest Tatami Estilo 5.0, the Graphite Blue edition.
Tatami has been at this game a while. And it's really showing with each new Gi release. With a slew of highly experienced Gi designers working round the clock, I suppose it's no surprise the Estilo 5.0 is as impressive as it is. And it certainly doesn't hurt that Tatami has a stable of top competitors to test the kimono in each stage of production. This combination of expertise and high-level practitioner feedback results in one very handsome and well built BJJ Gi!
The 5.0 boasts simple yet refined logos along the shoulders and thighs, using a unique embroidery process with merrowed edges and a flat surface. Other visual updates to the newest Estilo include woven graphic taping along the interior seams (cuffs and skirt) as well as a beautifully sublimated interior yoke panel. As always, Tatami uses incredibly durable materials. The jacket is 550 GSM Pearl and the pants are 12 oz. canvas cotton with reinforced knees. With the split side vents, Tatami brings something innovative to the table this time around... Instead of straight split vents, they've adjusted the cut for a new "Y" shape. This angled vent style allows the skirt to fall more naturally around you waist, especially when moving rapidly while grappling.
Both the top and bottom are thoroughly reinforced with heavy contrast stitching and 2nd layers where needed. The trousers are equipped with slightly wider drawstring loops that better guide the drawstring, which itself is the stretchy round style, far superior to the traditional flat string (especially when it comes to untying a sweat-soaked drawstring). A new woven label is sewn just under the waist, only exposed once your jacket is opened. A similar small and tasteful detail lies on the jacket's rib area in the form of a small estilo 5.0 text embroidery.
One more woven label is placed inside the jacket opening, detailing the care instructions for your new Estilo 5.0. While many companies will throw a generic manufacturer's tag inside, Tatami has put together a well done graphic label. It's the small details such as this that make the Estilo 5.0 a worthwhile purchase!
